Audi Made a Stop-Motion Holiday Video With Die-Cast Cars. It's Awesome
With RS6s, Quattros, and Q8s galore, Audi’s stop-motion holiday video is filled with holiday cheer.
Audi is officially getting into the holiday spirit. The automaker recently shared a short video on its Audi USA Instagram page that reimagines Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer with die-cast cars drifting through the snow instead of flying reindeer. It’s cute as hell.
The one-minute, 40-second clip, titled "Holiday Play, the Audi Way," is packed with miniature versions of some of Audi’s most iconic vehicles—production cars, race cars, and beloved classics alike. The cars slide down snowbanks, build snowmen, and generally have a grand old time together.
The video opens with a close-up of an Audi Q8 pulling out of an adorable gingerbread garage. From there, familiar siblings like the RS6 Avant, RS3, and A6 E-Tron quickly join the fun. Of course, it wouldn’t feel like a proper Audi holiday party without the brand’s legendary race cars; the Dakar racer, the original Quattro, the R10 TDI, and many others.
The finale brings everything together as the die-cast cars drift their way to a massive gingerbread mansion, where they proudly hang Audi’s glowing four-ring logo. It’s just a fun little video to get gearheads in the holiday spirit. Watch it below:
And if you’re wondering—no, this isn’t AI-generated. Audi confirmed that the video was created using real die-cast cars and a full production crew. The company even shared a few behind-the-scenes photos showing how each scene was carefully staged, highlighting the time and effort that went into creating this stop-motion goodness.
Knowing the difficulties of stop-motion, it’s hard to imagine how long this project probably took to complete. But the result speaks for itself. As of this writing, the video has already racked up 411,000 views.
