Porsche 911 Turbo from Romeo Ferraris reaches 880 PS
Romeo Ferraris presents the Velos kit for the Porsche 911 Turbo: mechanical and aesthetic modifications to make it more aggressive than ever.
Fifty years is a milestone that should be celebrated with all honours. That's what Romeo Ferraris did when it thought of the Porsche 911 Turbo, the supercharged version of the German sports car first presented at the 1973 Frankfurt Motor Show and arriving in dealerships the following year.
The tuning firm from the city Opera just outside of Milan has developed the special Velos kit, available as a single unit or with individual components, with mechanical and aesthetic modifications. The result is an 880-PS Porsche 911 Turbo S. Here's how they did it.
More than anything else
The engineers at Romeo Ferraris focused first on the engine, the 3.8 six-cylinder boxer, updated in various components such as the electronics, the oversized turbines, the exhaust and downpipe, the new intercooler and the carbon fibre intake system.
This engine develops 880 PS and 1,030 Nm of torque, an increase of 230 PS and 230 Nm respectively compared to the standard Porsche 911 Turbo S. The performance figures speak for themselves: top speed of over 210 mph and 0 to 62 mph in just 2.5 seconds.

All this is accompanied by changes to the suspension, which on the Romeo Ferraris Velos kit includes 4-way springs and dampers adjustable for rebound and compression, with stainless steel struts. Michelin Sport Cup 2 tyres are fitted as standard on exclusive wheel designs.

The Porsche 911 Turbo S from the Milanese coachbuilder also differs from the 'normal' version in terms of aesthetics. The package includes a new splitter, side skirts and redesigned air intakes, as well as a large rear spoiler, extractor and tailpipes. The interior has also been updated in terms of colour and trim. Customisation is of course possible, depending on the customer's tastes. The Velos kit is priced at around €90,000 (approx. £75,000), with the option of buying each component individually.
