Suzuki Jimny Mata announced: The last special series before it is discontinued
Born as a show car, the Suzuki Jimny Mata became a limited edition of just 150 units, sold from November.
We thought the farewell had already taken place, but that was without counting on the success of a model appreciated by many motorists. The Suzuki Jimny has now been enriched with a new special limited edition version, born of the show car presented at the 2024 Turin Motor Show and the Suzuki 4x4 Rally.
What does Mata mean? The term 'MATA-NE' is used in Japan to say hello, meaning 'see you soon'. How soon? When and how the Jimny will return to Europe is completely uncertain in view of the stricter EU fleet targets from 2025. In any case, they are the reason for its current end. In Germany, there was therefore the rather expensive farewell model Horizon.
What does it look like?
The most distinctive feature of the Suzuki Jimny Mata is its special two-tone livery, with bodywork in Siberian Silver metallic, while the roof, pillars and bonnet are in matt black. Other special details include decals with the Kanji (Japanese character) 又 'MATA' and the vintage grille. Special front, side and rear protectors, a hard cover for the spare wheel and special alloy wheels complete the package.

The interior - a two-seater, as the Suzuki Jimny is in fact only available as a commercial version - is equipped with a 7-inch central screen, rear sun visors, a rubber boot mat and an identification plate bearing the progressive model number. Standard equipment, as on other Jimny models, includes cruise control, heated seats, automatic climate control, automatic emergency braking and much more.

On sale from 30 November, the Suzuki Jimny Mata will therefore be the last version of the small Japanese off-roader, destined to disappear from the model list due to the new emission standards in force in Europe from 2025. Prices have not yet been announced.
