Rolls-Royce shows off the exclusive, specially-bred Phantom Rose
Rolls-Royce captures its unparalleled opulence in a special flower.
Known for a ride quality, configuration, design, and luxury features that are unmatched by the overwhelming majority of the automotive industry that surrounds it, many see Rolls-Royce in a league of its own in the realm of automotive luxury. Its vehicles are stunningly crafted, and offer comfort and personalisation at an astronomical level. Its elegant brand is reflected throughout its presence, and one of the most unique ways in which it’s expressed is in a specially bred flower that only exists in the courtyard of Rolls-Royce’s Goodwood home: the Phantom Rose.
Shown off in one of Rolls-Royce’s latest Instagram posts, the Phantom Rose was bred and is grown exclusively for Rolls-Royce. The flower has a delicate, pale, colour, and its rich blooms boast 50 petals and a strong scent. It was bred by Philip Harkness, a renowned rose breeder whose family has been in the craft since 1879.
Commissioned by Rolls-Royce Bespoke Designer Sina-Maria Eggl, it grows in a specially-designed bed which also features lavender and is situated next to reflection ponds. The roses serve as inspiration for Rolls-Royce Bespoke’s Designers, who are able to observe the flower bed through the Sir Nicholas Grimshaw Plant’s floor-to-ceiling windows as they work. With Rolls-Royce’s uncompromised luxury inspiring the creation of a new and exclusive kind of rose, there seems to be no end to how far-reaching the impact of such an inspirational legacy and reputation in the automotive world is.
