Volkswagen USA has revealed pricing details for the limited-run Beetle GSR.

The car was showcased earlier this year at 2013 Chicago Auto Show and now it's on order at a starting price of 29,995 USD with the six-speed manual gearbox or 31,095 USD once you choose the dual-clutch, six-speed DSG. Regardless of transmission choice, the Beetle GSR is equipped with a 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder turbocharged TSI engine delivering 210 bhp (156 kW) and 207 lb-ft (280 Nm) of torque. It will do 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 6.6 seconds and an electronically-governed top speed of 130 mph (210 km/h).

Sitting on 19-inch Tornado alloys shod in 235/40 tires, the 2013 Volkswagen Beetle GSR limited edition has been fitted with R-Line front/rear bumpers, Fender sound system, panoramic sunroof, keyless access with push-start button, along with bi-xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights. Other goodies include heated front seats, alloy-looking pedals, three-color ambient lightning and Bluetooth connectivity.

This special edition will be limited to 3,500 units, but Volkswagen didn't specify how many of them will reach stateside.
