New Morgan Plus Six to run at Goodwood this week
The new retro sports car will make its dynamic debut at the four-day event.
Morgan is gearing up to take its new Plus Six sports car up the hillclimb course at the Goodwood Festival of Speed later this week.
In what will be the car's global dynamic debut, the new Plus Six will feature in the 'first glance' category alongside other previously unseen new road and concept machines.
The new BMW-engined car is the brand's most advanced car ever, but maintains the unique old-school characteristics of all of Malvern's finest. The German 3.0-litre engine delivers 335 bhp, so despite an appearance from yesteryear, the Plus Six is very much a modern machine.
Shane Kelly, the Morgan Plus Six's test driver, will complete two high-speed runs on the 1.2-mile course on each day of the four-day festival, giving people plenty of opportunities to see the car in action at speed. What's more, at Morgan's stand at the event, fans will also be able to get a closer look at the all-new Morgan CX platform, which underpins the next generation sportscar.
"It is with great pride that Morgan Motor Company can represent the history and evolution of the automobile in Britain at the nation’s largest, and best loved automotive event," said Toby Blythe, Morgan Motor Company Head of Marketing. "The Festival of Speed has become a national institution over the last quarter of a century, and we are delighted to have our newest, and most exciting sportscar going up the famed Goodwood hill."
"The Plus Six’s dynamic global debut is an incredibly significant event in the 110th year of Morgan’s wonderful history, and there is no greater place to present the car than the Goodwood Festival of Speed."
