Jaguar Black Editions released on most depressing day of the year

Yesterday was officially the most depressing day of the year. The third Monday in January – or 'Blue Monday' as it's known – has that unenviable title.

Fortunately for petrolheads, Jaguar used the dull day as an opportunity to uplift, by releasing a collection of special edition models. The Black Editions aren't actually black, but the dark naming does seem appropriate.

2020 Jaguar XE facelift spotted hiding sleeker headlights

In fact, the limited run trims, available across the XE, XF, XF Sportbrake, E-Pace, F-Type and F-Pace models, are available in a range of colours – so you could even get a blue one.

All come with black alloy wheels, Black Pack, (explains the name), privacy glass and metallic paint as standard. All of those extras come with a 50 percent discount compared to when they're on the regular options list, representing a saving of as much as £4,495. The biggest savings are available on the F-Type Coupé P300 Auto, which comes complete with a switchable active exhaust, rear view camera and a fixed rear spoiler.

The F-Pace R-Sport 2.0d AWD Black Edition, meanwhile, comes with savings of £2,577.50. That also comes fitted with 10-way electric seats, a heated steering wheel and a fixed panoramic roof.

The XF 2.0d R-Sport Auto Black Edition comes with a saving of £1,507.50, and adds 19-inch Black Blade alloy wheels and a rear view camera.
