Volkswagen Multivan BlueMotion and Edition 25 premiere in Geneva
BlueMotion technology improves fuel-economy and emissions on the Multivan while the Edition 25 celebrates the 25th anniversary of the model.
Volkswagen has premiered the Multivan BlueMotion and the Edition 25 Multivan in Geneva.
The Multivan BlueMotion features substantial improvements in fuel economy for the big 7-passenger mover. With a 2.0 liter TDI producing 114 PS (84 kW / 113 bhp) and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque, the BlueMotion technology helps deliver a 6.4 liters/100 km fuel-economy rating and CO2 emissions of just 169 g/km.
The BlueMotion system on the Multivan includes regenerative braking which supplies energy to charge the battery and a stop/start system.
The Edition 25 is meant to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the model. Its distinguishing features include a matte black roof and black 18-inch alloy wheels. There's also the black door handles, matte black paint on the underside of the front bumper, black decal trim at the back and side sills.
All that black is contrasted with a choice of 3 colors for the exterior finish - Candy White, Salsa Red or Metallic Silver.
The Edition 25 also features a sport chassis and upgraded anti-roll bar.
VW is also planning a 180 PS (132 kW / 177 bhp) Edition 25 variant with 4Motion and the DSG gearbox to celebrate 25 years of all-wheel drive on the Transporter van - the utility version of the model.
