Dan Mihalascu is a seasoned automotive journalist with over two decades of experience covering product launches and industry news, as well as reviewing more cars than he can remember.

Prior to joining Motor1, Dan worked as a news writer and editor for various US market-centric websites, including Autoblog, HotCars, InsideEVs, CarScoops, and Autoevolution. His byline also appeared on several other international websites, including Men's Journal, DriveMag, and ConsumerAffairs, as well as several Romanian car websites and magazines.

Dan holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu, Romania. He’s fluent in English, French, and Romanian.

He is a big GTI fan, and he doesn’t discriminate between brands. He has owned a 2008 VW Golf GTI since… 2008, and he’s also raced two Peugeot 205 GTIs in the Romanian hillclimbing series in his younger days. It’s no wonder his favorite writing topics are sports cars and classics. Besides driving and writing, he loves cycling, trekking, swimming, and reading.
