Baby McLaren versus mighty Porsche 911 – doesn't seem fair, does it?

Has the mighty Porsche 911 Turbo S finally met its match in the form of the "entry level" McLaren 540C? Both offer bonafide supercar performance way above their pay grade, so the question is not only which is best, but which represents the best value?

Alex Goy has brought the 540C to try and usurp the ubiquitous 911 Turbo S. With its 3.8-liter biturbo petrol engine packing 533 hp and 398 lb-ft, it's anything but "entry level" and being 345 kg (760 lbs) lighter than the Porsche, it's certainly got enough to keep the Porsche honest.

Vicky Parrott has backed the favorite, which harnesses an astonishing 572 hp and 533 lb-ft from its 3.8-liter biturbo flat-six engine while putting all that power down through a brilliant four-wheel-drive system.
