Chevrolet Silverado Crushes Lamborghini In Florida Walmart Parking Lot: 'I’d Hate To Be The Insurance Agent Taking This Call'
“POV: You run your truck over a LAMBO."
A woman filmed the aftermath of a Chevrolet Silverado running over a Lamborghini Huracán in an Orlando Walmart parking lot. The video has inspired a truckload of jokes.
TikTok creator Stephanie (@stephtravelstories) posted a video of the scene last week. It shows the Silverado stuck atop the Lamborghini. “POV: You run your truck over a LAMBO and the saxophones get louder,” the on-screen text reads.
In the caption, Stephanie writes, “I’d hate to be the insurance agent taking this call. Also, you can’t park there.”
There are multiple videos online from almost every angle of this crash. An Instagram video shows the other side of the wreck, and from this perspective, it does look like the Lamborghini might be on the wrong side of the lane.
A Reddit thread posted to r/Florida a few days ago includes a video of the crash from the side perspective. It shows the Huracán backing up shortly before the Silverado comes into view, then driving onto it like a ramp.
The Facts About Florida Car Insurance Requirements
People who commented on the Reddit thread pointed out that insurance coverage might be problematic in this crash.
“I almost guarantee that the truck’s insurance is not sufficient to cover that,” said one commenter.
A second person replied, “In Florida, we are only legally required to have $10K in property damage coverage. That will be enough to cover approximately one Lamborghini wiper blade.”
Another person agreed, “Yup. My girlfriend was driving and we got rear ended by a lifted F-150. Their insurance was minimal.”
Florida law requires $10,000 in property damage liability insurance coverage. It also requires another $10,000 in personal injury protection. As several commenters also noted, the Huracán can cost well over $300,000.
If the insurance companies involved determine that the Silverado was at fault, the Lamborghini driver will likely file a claim with their insurer. They might then need to file a claim on their own insurance policy to fill the gap. If that doesn’t work, a lawsuit is potentially the next step.
If the Lamborghini driver was at fault, then they’re looking at a discussion with their own insurance company about repairs. And that generally assumes the Lamborghini wasn’t totaled in this situation. If it were, gap insurance might become relevant. That way, the Lamborghini driver could potentially walk away from the accident without financial catastrophe.
People Debate Who's At Fault
In the comments section of the video, viewers debated which party is at fault in the Silverado-Lamborghini collision.
“Petition for all lifted truck users to be required to attend CDL classes,” suggested one viewer who seemingly blames the Silverado driver.
“No, because I saw the boyfriend’s POV and the Lambo was quite literally on the wrong side of the road,” a second user argued.
“And this is why we need size regulations on the road,” a third person said.
