The new Fiat 500 and the new Pandina are coming, here's when

Fiat COO Jean-Philippe Imparato unveils plans for upcoming models. In November it will be the turn of the new 500 hybrid

Fiat's innovations for the coming years

There is not only the Grande Panda in Fiat's future. On the horizon, there are at least two more models for the Italian manufacturer, including the new 500 hybrid that will arrive sooner than expected. And within the decade we will also see the new 500 and the new Pandina

It was Jean-Philippe Imparato, Fiat's COO for Europe, who gave these first glimpses directly in an interview with Autocar during the Brussels Motor Show. In fact, Imparato had already anticipated a few things in recent months when he was a guest on Rai 1's XXI Secolo programme. However, the executive added a few more details, reiterating the centrality of Italian production plants in Fiat's plans.

The 500 hybrid arrives in November

The first model will be the Grande Panda, which will arrive in all European dealerships from March in both electric and mild hybrid versions. With it, a true family of models will be inaugurated, which will be enriched in the coming years with various body types inspired precisely by the shapes of the B-segment crossover.

After the Grande Panda, it will be time for the hybrid version of the 500, which will have the same look as the 500e. It will arrive in November 2025, i.e. a few months earlier than expected (all the Fiat 2025 upcoming models), probably to contain as much as possible the drop in sales in Europe, also due to the model's age. And, still on the subject of the 500, the new electric generation will be born in 2029, again in Mirafiori, and should last at least until 2032-2033.

Thinking of the new Pandina

What do you think?

But that's not all, because Imparato also spoke of the new Pandina: "The current generation will be produced until 2030", said the brand's top European executive. "Then we will have a new model, still made in the Pomigliano d'Arco plant". Again, Imparato confirmed what had already been revealed during the meeting between the government and Stellantis last December.

Although Imparato did not specify what type of engine the new Pandina will mount, we think it will be offered exclusively with mild hybrid versions so as not to compete internally with the Grande Panda and 500e. To know more about the Fiat, however, we will have to wait a little longer.
