A Jimny with a Land Cruiser front end? We like the idea!
The retro aesthetics, one of the strengths of the small Japanese SUV, would be retained.
The temporary disappearance of the Suzuki Jimny has sparked a host of crazy ideas about the future Japanese SUV. Through various digital recreations, we've seen it with front ends from all sorts of models, including the Toyota FJ Cruiser and also the INEOS Grenadier.
In this article, we show it with the Land Cruiser's front end, and the truth is that it looks pretty good, as it continues with that retro aesthetic that has been so well received by customers all over the world. Would you like to see a Jimny like this in dealerships?
Beyond this curious mix of Suzuki and Toyota, the reality is that the Jimny is currently not for sale. But don't worry, it's coming back, and no, it won't come back as an electric 4x4, as originally planned.

Right now, Suzuki is working on a biofuel compatible Jimny. So it will still be a combustion-powered small SUV, but a much more environmentally friendly one. Will it get a new engine, or will it keep the 1.5-litre, 102 PS naturally aspirated block in place? We can't answer that question yet.
Aesthetically, we don't expect much to change as the retro aesthetics remain very fresh, although there may be some tweaks to the front and rear end. It is worth remembering that there is still no specific arrival date for the vehicle. All we know is that it will land before the end of this decade.
There is reasonable doubt that in the UK biofuels will be a real alternative in terms of availability and price for those interested in buying the Japanese SUV. Let's hope so!
Other digital proposals for the Jimny:
Obviously, the 'off-road' arguments will continue in the vehicle, such as connectable all-wheel drive with reduction gear, two rigid axles, hill descent control and recirculating ball steering. All of this will ensure that the car will not lose any of its off-road capability.
At the moment, no other brand is going to overshadow Suzuki with the development of a small SUV, although there are several Chinese proposals, such as the iCar V23, which, if they make it to Europe, could attract a lot of attention from potential buyers.
