Dacia Sandero 2027: A revolution in sight?

Its crossover image could be enhanced and it would remain affordable.

The popularity of the Dacia Sandero is such that the Romanian brand has a difficult challenge: to make the new, fourth generation as popular as the current one. The manufacturer is certainly already working on this model, due in 2027, but what will it look like?

For the moment, we haven't been able to catch any spy photos, mainly because it still seems too early to be in the testing phase on open roads. However, the digital recreations appearing on the Internet lead us to believe that it will be a much more rugged-style model than it is now.

In fact, it could even be converted exclusively into a crossover, like the current Sandero Stepway, to position itself as the Duster's little 'brother', although with the aim of remaining as affordable as possible.

In principle, the platform will continue to be CMF-B and new engines will be available, perhaps borrowed or derived from the Bigster, both bi-fuel and light hybrid and even the conventional hybrid.

The dimensions of the 2027 Dacia Sandero are also likely to grow slightly, but not by much, in order to remain a vehicle for urban use, preferably. The current model, at 4.09 metres in length, is very well used, both in terms of interior space and boot (328 litres), so the new generation will improve on what is already very good at the moment.

Of course, the styling will follow that of Dacia's newest models, so expect the introduction of the slim corporate grille and also a 'Y' signature light signature. There may even be more offered in terms of variety, with new paintwork and even attractive two-tone combinations.

Otherwise, we expect a greater dose of technology, for example with the introduction of digital instrumentation or the use of a multimedia system based on Android Automotive (Google), as is the case on Renault's latest models. And there will be the now famous YouClip system for integrating portable lights or attaching tablets, for example.

What do you think?

However, we must stress that everything depends on keeping the price as low as possible. Dacia is surely studying how to create the 2027 Sandero to achieve this goal. It is worth remembering that the new Duster costs £18,800, so its little 'brother' should not exceed the £16,000 mark to be able to access it. Right now, the cheapest Sandero costs £14,200.
