2025 Isuzu D-Max facelift gets extra off-road mode
The facelift brings a striking design, more safety and the 'Rough Terrain Mode.' Plus: Blade version and new diesel in Thailand.
With a comprehensive facelift, Isuzu is making the D-Max fit for the 2025 model year: new design elements, improved technology, various assistance systems to make it one of the safest pickups, and a new version for occasional off-road adventures.
The revised design gives the D-Max a more modern and robust appearance. The front end has been upgraded with a wider, black chrome radiator grille and narrower LED daytime running lights. At the rear, the new triple L-shaped LED taillights stand out, look good, and increase visibility. New wheel arch extensions and optional matte alloy wheels round off the powerful appearance.

In the interior, Isuzu has focussed on more comfort and improved functionality. The higher-value V-Cross equipment line has a larger 9-inch infotainment screen and a new 7-inch digital display in the instrument cluster Practical new features include USB-C ports and an optional wireless charging pad in front of the gear lever. The new rotary controls for volume and radio on the infotainment system ensure intuitive operation.
The enhanced safety and assistance systems of the new D-Max are particularly noteworthy. An extended 3D camera system with a wider angle of coverage improves pedestrian and obstacle detection and can brake automatically if necessary. The new intelligent adaptive cruise control (IACC) recognises speed limits in real time and supports the driver when adjusting speed. The lane departure warning system has also been optimised to ensure smoother lane guidance.

Rough Terrain Mode: off-road fun guaranteed
For off-road enthusiasts, the facelifted pickup offers the "Rough Terrain Mode" specially developed for demanding terrain. Targeted torque distribution optimises traction in extreme conditions such as mud or stony tracks.
This enables even better driving control and stability off-road, in combination with the lockable rear axle. An improved tyre pressure monitoring system displays the pressure values in real time and informs the driver when an adjustment is required—ideal for changing surfaces.

Exclusive model for Australia
While the European facelift scores with modern features and design updates, Isuzu is presenting a particularly exclusive variant in Australia with the D-Max Blade. Visually, the Blade features black accents that give it a classy yet sporty touch.
The radiator grille as well as the wheel rims and various body details are in black and emphasise the striking look. In the interior, Isuzu places particular emphasis on high-quality equipment: fine materials and well thought-out details raise the standard and ensure a luxurious driving experience.

But the Blade is not just something for the eye. The special edition offers a specially customised accessory package for off-road use. This includes a robust underride guard, special off-road tyres and other features that make the Aussie D-Max a real off-road specialist.
Unfortunately, this attractive variant is limited to the Australian market for the time being. However, a model like the Blade - just like the new Mazda BT-50 - should also meet with great interest in Europe. Customised pickups with a touch of luxury are becoming increasingly popular on the Old Continent.
New drive for the Thai market
In Thailand, Isuzu is expanding the D-Max engine range with a new 2.2-litre diesel engine combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The engine is designed to maximise efficiency and complements the existing engine range. The new automatic transmission should not only enable smoother gear changes but also significantly increase comfort on long journeys.
New diesel engine for the Isuzu MU-X
Unfortunately, the MU-X is available only in certain markets
The SUV derivative MU-X also benefits from the new drive technology. With its generous space and modern technology, the MU-X is still one of Isuzu's most interesting models. The fact that it is still not available in more markets is probably a downer for many SUV fans - especially in view of its robust and family-friendly characteristics. Whether and when these models will also be available in Europe is still unclear.
The facelift of the Isuzu D-Max is now available in various versions and equipment lines from all authorised dealers in Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia. Prices vary depending on the model and equipment. The basic L version starts at around 44,490 euros for the Space Cab 4WD, while the top models, such as the V-Cross in the Double Cab variant, start at 58,490 euros.
