Renault 2025: All the new upcoming models
Great anticipation for the return of the R4. Facelifts of the Megane E-Tech and Austral are also on the cards
At the Paris Motor Show, we got a glimpse into the future of Renault. There, the French brand presented the new 4 E-Tech, an electric crossover that pays homage to the historic model of the same name, both visually and in terms of philosophy.
It will be launched on the market in 2025 and will not be the French company's only new product. Facelifts for two other important models are expected in the new year, including the Megane E-Tech and the Austral. Here are all the details.
- Renault 4 E-Tech
- Renault 5 E-Tech
- Redesign of the Renault Megane E-Tech
- Redesign of the Renault Austral
Renault 4 E-Tech
The new version of the Renault 4 was unveiled in Paris and will arrive in dealerships in 2025 (probably in the summer months). Based on the AmpR Small platform, the vehicle is available with 40 and 52 kWh batteries connected to 120 and 150 PS motors respectively. The maximum range in the WLTP cycle is 250 miles, although this figure is still subject to type approval.

All versions are equipped with a bidirectional 11 kW AC charger as standard. In addition, the R4 can be charged with direct current, with a maximum output of 80 or 100 kW depending on the battery.
The Renault 4 E-Tech is also the brand's first model to be equipped with One Pedal Driving. When you take your foot off the accelerator, the vehicle brakes to a standstill while recovering energy. Pay attention to the boot, which can hold no less than 420 litres of luggage.

Renault 5 E-Tech
The return of the Renault 5 will be accompanied by the launch of a 40 kWh battery version in early 2025. This variant, which will flank the 52 kWh model, promises a range of around 186 miles in the WLTP cycle and will be combined with 95 and 120 PS electric motors. Prices for the basic version start at around €25,000 (approx. £21,000), but there is no DC charging option here.

Renault Megane E-Tech facelift
Launched in 2021, the Megane with electric drive could receive an update in 2025. The redesign is expected to include some visual changes to bring it closer to the styling of newer models such as the Scenic E-Tech and the Rafale. New interior features and a more advanced infotainment system are also expected to be added.

The styling overhaul is likely to be accompanied by a number of innovations in electric motors and batteries. Renault could revise the powertrain, focussing even more on efficiency and battery capacity. The Megane E-Tech is currently available with an output of 131 PS and 218 PS, combined with 40 kWh and 60 kWh batteries, which provide a maximum range of around 292 miles.

Renault Austral facelift
The facelift of the Austral is planned for 2025, three years after the model's market launch. As can be seen in the prototype photos, the main visual changes are likely to focus on the front end, with headlights and a bumper that could be inspired by the Rafale. The rear lights could also be modified in line with the design of the Rafale.

The body and side profile are not expected to change significantly, as the basic lines will be retained. As for the interior, no details have been confirmed, but logic dictates that the redesign will continue to utilise the Android Automotive-based OpenR Link infotainment system.
Technically, the redesigned Austral is expected to retain the current engine technology, which consists of the 1.2 TCe with 131 PS and the 1.3 TCe Light Hybrid with 160 PS, as well as the 1.2 Hybrid with 200 PS. However, the introduction of a plug-in hybrid is not ruled out, perhaps with the same 300 PS as the Rafale.
