The Grand Tour praises the new Praga Bohema hypercar
Three of the automotive world’s biggest personalities take this new track-focused hypercar for a spin.
Love them or not, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May are some of the most important people in the car world, and certainly some of the most opinionated. Their shows and productions have been equally able to make car enthusiasts laugh and come away more informed about the latest and greatest in the automotive industry, and recently, their show, The Grand Tour, has returned in the form of The Grand Tour: Eurocrash, in which the iconic trio shared their thoughts the new Praga Bohema hypercar, and James May, in particular, took it for a spin.
May described the Bohema’s acceleration and power as “enormous,” its steering as “incredible,” and summed up the car as “wonderful.” Meanwhile, Clarkson said that it was a “very impressive piece of engineering.” The episode airs right as production of the roadgoing Bohema hypercar is about to begin, with a price of roughly 1.09 million GBP, and a production run of only 89 units. With performance, design, and engineering to wow some of the toughest people to please in the automotive world, the new Praga Bohema is sure to be a sensation.
The heart of the Bohema is a 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6 that is related to the powerplant in the Nissan GT-R. The company has a supply deal with the automaker for the engines. Praga wants this application to make 700 bhp and 535 pound-feet. It also plans to fit a dry sump oil system that would reduce the powerplant's height by 140 millimetres. The exhaust pipes are titanium. The intended gearbox is a Hewland sequential unit with a robotic clutch. Praga projects that the Bohema's top speed is over 186 miles per hour (300 kilometres per hour).
