Ford has released new details about the 2016 Explorer Platinum.
Set to arrive at dealerships next month, the range-topping variant has an upscale exterior with LED headlights, silver-painted skid plates, a dual-panel moonroof and 20-inch two-tone alloy wheels.
Bigger changes occur in the cabin as the crossover comes nicely equipped with perforated Nirvana leather seats, ash wood trim and brushed aluminum accents. The model also has a heated wood / leather steering wheel, a 500-watt Sony audio system and a digital instrument cluster.
Power is provided by a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine that develops 365 bhp (272 kW) and 350 lb-ft (474 Nm) of torque. It is connected to a six-speed automatic transmission and a standard four-wheel drive system.
