2016 Land Rover Range Rover SV Autobiography | Why Buy?
We break down the most expensive Range Rover on sale today. Champagne anyone?
– Detroit, Michigan
Compared to the Honda CR-Vs, Jeep Grand Cherokees, and Subaru Foresters of the world, every Range Rover is a special automotive snowflake. Land Rover has done a phenomenal job in this latest generation, to make its flagship a luxurious-feeling SUV, but with all of the capability that we expect from the off-roading brand name.
But the Range Rover SV Autobiography is clearly the most extraordinary flavor the company now serves up. The supercharged V8 makes a heroic 550 horsepower, while the super-plush backseat cooler is busy making your champagne a perfect 48 degrees. As far as I can tell, it’s the only mountain climbing limousine that can also acquit itself respectably at the dragstrip… at least off the rack from a big name OEM (sorry, Mansory).
The downside, of course, is that the sticker price is rather upscale as well. We don’t typically feature $200,000-vehicles in our consumer-aimed Why Buy? series, but when we do you’d better believe they’re worth watching. Hey, one-percenters need shopping tips, too.
Enjoy the SV Autobiography video here, and if you like the format, be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel – we’ve got a new Why Buy? for you to watch, every Thursday.
