McLaren 540C vs Porsche 911 Turbo S: Sports Cars Or Supercars?
Baby McLaren versus mighty Porsche 911 – doesn't seem fair, does it?
Has the mighty Porsche 911 Turbo S finally met its match in the form of the 'entry level' McLaren 540C? Both offer bonafide supercar performance way above their pay grade, so the question is not only which is best, but which represents the best value?
Alex Goy has brought the 540C to try and usurp the ubiquitous 911 Turbo S. With its 3.8-litre twin-turbo petrol engine packing 533bhp and 398lb ft, it's anything but 'entry level' and being 345kg lighter than the Porsche, it's certainly got enough to keep the Porsche honest.
Vicky Parrott has backed the favourite, which harnesses an astonishing 572bhp and 533lb ft from its 3.8-litre twin-turbo flat-six engine while putting all that power down through a brilliant four-wheel-drive system.
