Stellantis is set to expand Chrysler’s lineup with three new models, including two compact crossovers and a larger one named the Airflow. A recent video showcasing Stellantis’s multi-energy strategy appears to have leaked the design of the Airflow. The video features five vehicles, including two Jeeps, a Peugeot, a DS, and a mystery Chrysler, which is suspected to be the new Airflow. This marks the first glimpse of the crossover, which incorporates Chrysler’s new corporate front end seen on the updated Pacifica.
The design of the Chrysler Airflow includes vertical LED headlamps, an illuminated grille, a wing logo, and a “piano keys” lighting signature, all adapted to the upright front end of a crossover. The side view reveals vertical taillights, a rear spoiler, and door handles similar to those on the new Jeep Cherokee, along with a distinctive daylight opening. The video also provides insight into the Airflow’s powertrain options.
The Chrysler Airflow is expected to be powered by a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine, producing 177 horsepower, similar to the Cherokee but without the hybrid system. Additionally, there is speculation that the Airflow could feature the new Hurricane 4 engine, a turbo 2.0-liter producing 325 horsepower, which might be available on a higher trim level. These updates aim to strengthen Chrysler’s current lineup and offer more diverse options to consumers.
