Connecticut’s Miller Motorcars has embarked on an ambitious project by creating a one-off supercar, the JC9, in collaboration with renowned automotive designer Jason Castriota. This unique vehicle is based on the Porsche Carrera GT and draws inspiration from the classic 917K, which competed over 50 years ago. The JC9 was officially unveiled at the dealership’s 50th anniversary celebration, showcasing its distinctive design and craftsmanship.
The JC9 is described as a “coach-built V10 manual supercar” that is entirely constructed from carbon fiber. While its exterior may not immediately resemble the Carrera GT, the interior remains largely unchanged, retaining the original gauges, dashboard vents, center console, and steering wheel, albeit with a new covering that omits the Porsche logo. This blend of modern design and classic elements highlights the car’s unique character and attention to detail.
Although the Instagram post announcing the JC9 does not specify any modifications to the Carrera GT’s naturally aspirated V10 engine, which originally produced 603 horsepower and 45 pound-feet of torque, the car’s debut was a significant event. Alongside the JC9, other notable designs by Castriota were displayed, including the Ferrari P4/5, Ferrari 612 Kappa, Maserati Birdcage 75th, SSC Tuatara, Ford Mustang Mach-E, and Bertone Mantide, further emphasizing the designer’s influence in the automotive world.
