Lola Cars, renowned for its iconic race cars in motorsport history, has a legacy of propelling drivers to numerous victories, including three Indianapolis 500 wins. After going out of business in 2012, the company was resurrected in 2022 and is now reproducing one of its most celebrated race cars, the T70. This revival marks a return to Lola’s roots in creating formidable racing machines.
Lola is producing two versions of the T70: the T70S for the track and the T70S GT for the road. Only 16 of these cars will be built, each described as a “faithful rebirth of a motorsport icon.” The road-going T70S GT is equipped with a 6.2-liter V8 engine from Chevrolet, delivering 500 horsepower, a top speed of 200 mph, and a 0-60 time of 2.9 seconds. It also includes modern amenities such as climate controls, storage solutions, and a road-specific gearbox.
The track version, the T70S, features a 5.0-liter V8 engine from Chevy, producing 530 horsepower. It boasts a period-correct transaxle, a double-wishbone suspension system, and a top speed of 203 mph, with a 0-60 time of 2.5 seconds. The T70S comes with an FIA Historic Technical Passport, enabling it to compete in FIA-sanctioned events. Both versions were developed using original archival drawings, with Lola reengineering every component and employing sustainable materials and advanced manufacturing processes.
