‘Carvana Is Ruining My Life’: Woman Buys Audi At Carvana. Then It Spends A Month In The Shop—And Still Isn’t Fixed
“I have spent close to $3,000 just this past month."
A woman has serious buyer’s remorse after purchasing an Audi from Carvana. Her experience has some wondering if buyers should steer clear of Carvana when buying luxury—or perhaps simply not buy there at all.
TikTok creator @isononthecake_ posted a video about her troubles. “So I bought myself an Audi A4 from Carvana at the end of January,” she says in a video posted at the end of May. “And it has literally been in the shop longer than I’ve actually driven it.”
She continues, “This is my second time buying from Carvana. The first time I bought a Nissan Altima. And it was a really, really great experience. I didn’t have any problems, no issues. It was a really great experience.”
What Happened After She Bought An Audi At Carvana?
Unfortunately, she says, “This time around though has been a nightmare.” What exactly caused the nightmare? She says she has had engine issues that led to the repair shop having to completely replace the turbo in her Audi.
“[I] picked it up yesterday and the check engine light is already on,” she says. “I have spent close to $3,000 just this past month on a rental. And my warranty is through Silver Rock. So my warranty is only supposed to cover $600.”
She says she was told this by multiple people when she called Silver Rock, but she insisted that the company needed to cover the entirety of the bill.
“My car issues has been delaying me from doing what I want to do,” she says. “All my extra money that I do have is going to rentals. Because I am paying for rentals and I still have to pay my car note, I am living paycheck to paycheck.”
She adds, “I can’t even get into my body building. Because of the stress that I have from this car. It is so crazy. “
Are Used Audis Reliable?
In the comments section of the video, viewers reacted to the TikToker’s story and her decision to purchase a used Audi from Carvana.
“Your first mistake was buying a luxury vehicle from a place like that,” wrote one person. “You always buy it at the dealer, new or used.”
“They sold it for a reason,” a second person said. “Bought an Audi from Carvana should never be in the same sentence,” a third person said.
This isn’t the first time a person struggled to keep a used Audi purchased from Carvana running. Earlier this year, a man went viral after he reported the RS 3 he purchased at Carvana may have been in an unreported accident. That’s why some experts highly recommend getting an independent inspection before signing on the dotted line.
However, not everyone has had a bad experience. A customer posted to the Real Carvana Reviews and Experiences Facebook group in March to say that they had a positive experience with the Audi S5 they bought from Carvana. It is worth noting that the person got an independent inspection before finalizing the deal.
“She’s holding up like a champ,” they wrote. “The only thing it needs is brakes, but that’s just because of the way I drive it. I had an awesome experience buying from them.”
