First glimpses of the restyled Mercedes C-Class
Thanks to our render, we take a look at the C-Class that will be updated in 2026 with a new front end and more efficient engines
The Mercedes C-Class is one of the most important models for the German manufacturer. The new generation debuted in 2021 and will certainly undergo a major update in the near future.
This restyling could arrive in 2026 (although the unveiling could take place as early as late 2025) and bring with it several new features in both styling and equipment, as well as some new engines.
The new 'eyes' with the star
To imagine what the 'new' C-Class will look like, we can take a look at our render, which is based on recent sightings of early prototypes.
The Mercedes C-Class restyling of 2026, this is what it could look like
Mercedes is known to take a conservative approach to restyling, and it is likely that the updated C-Class will not be overhauled. The main changes will be at the front, with the headlights possibly adopting a new star-shaped light signature, similar to that of the new CLA. In addition, the grille could be styled like the E-Class, with black surrounds and chrome stripes.
At the rear, the changes will be less noticeable, probably limited to a new graphic for the light clusters and a few tweaks to the bumper.
As for the interior, it is possible that Mercedes will introduce new upholstery materials and some changes to the dashboard, especially for the infotainment system.
The engine range
Turning to the engines, we think the restyled C-Class will keep most of the current powertrains, with Mercedes working further on efficiency. They include the mild hybrid petrol and diesel engines with power outputs from 204 PS up to 408 PS, in the case of the C 43 AMG.
The discussed four-cylinder engine of the current Mercedes-AMG C 63 S E Performance
We expect a further refinement of the plug-in hybrid petrol and diesel variants, with electric ranges of 80-93 miles. And speaking of plug-ins, it remains to be seen whether Mercedes will confirm the C 63 AMG with the 2.0 turbo four-cylinder and an electric motor for 680 PS. Although capable of exceptional performance, this version has not convinced all enthusiasts, which is why a switch to a six-cylinder engine cannot be completely ruled out.
