Stellantis future based on STLA Medium and STLA Large
Which models are planned for 2025 and 2026
In the quiet time between the years little is happening in the electric car industry, but somehow we stumbled across Stellantis' investor day, which took place back in June. Interesting details about the Group's platforms were announced that we were not yet aware of in this form.
In the presentation for the event, there is a graphic that we have used as the cover image. It shows the new products based on STLA Medium and STLA Large for 2024, 2025 and 2026. Let's first look at another graphic to remind ourselves of the features of STLA Medium and STLA Large:
STLA Medium is intended for the compact and mid-range, designed as a pure 400-volt platform. The platform also enables front-wheel and all-wheel drive, batteries up to 98 kWh and ranges of up to 435 miles. STLA Large, on the other hand, is intended for the upper mid-range and luxury class, also supports rear-wheel drive and 800 volts and offers space for batteries of up to 118 kWh.
STLA Medium: three new models in 2025, two more in 2026
The STLA Medium platform was officially presented in summer 2023. The first models based on the platform were launched in 2024: the Peugeot E-3008 and E-5008 as well as the Opel-Vauxhall Grandland Electric. Three more models are planned for 2025. After everything that has become known since June 2024, we dare to say which models we are talking about:
- DS N°8: mid-range crossover has already been unveiled, launching in summer
- Citroën e-C5 Aircross: compact SUV, so far only known as a study
- Jeep Compass Electric: compact SUV, so far only as a rendering
Two more models are set to follow in 2026, one from DS and one from Lancia. We already know the name of the latter and a few rumours, but we are still in the dark about the DS model:
- DS model: still unclear
- Lancia Gamma: Presumably similar bodywork to the DS N°8
Interestingly, an Opel (Vauxhall) model is missing; a successor to the Opel Insignia due to be launched in 2026 had long been rumoured, which would share the platform with models from DS and Lancia. There was also talk of an electric successor to the Manta. None of this can be seen in the plan.
DS N°8 (2025): A 4.82 m long crossover

STLA Large
The STLA Large platform has also already been presented in detail; at that time it was officially stated: Dodge and Jeep will bring the first models, Alfa, Chrysler and Maserati will follow. We have not yet heard much about the larger of the two platforms in Europe; all three new models for 2024 are destined for North America:
- Dodge Charger Daytona: electric muscle car with a length of 5.25 metres and 94 kWh battery pack
- Jeep Wagoneer S: 4.98 metre long SUV with 100 kWh battery
- Jeep Recon: an electric successor to the Wrangler, still little known
The Wagoneer S is already available to order, the Charger has already been presented in detail, but so far there are only pictures and vague details about the Recon. The car was supposed to be launched in 2024, but is not yet available on the American Jeep website, however, the Charger has been confirmed for Europe in the second half of 2025.
We are still having a bit of a hard time categorising the other plans. However, our colleagues at Motor1 have found a product plan from Alfa according to which the new Stelvio will be launched in 2025, while the new Giulia will not follow until 2026:
According to our cover picture, we can initially expect three newcomers for 2025, of which, however, probably only the Alfa and probably also the Jeep will come to us in Europe. According to the graphic above, the Alfa is the Stelvio, while nothing is yet known (at least to us) about the Dodge and Jeep models:
- Alfa Romeo Stelvio: probably a mid-range SUV
- Dodge model
- Jeep model
A US model and an Alfa are planned for 2026:
- Chrysler model: electric SUV in the style of the Chrysler Airflow
- Alfa Romeo Giulia: probably a mid-size crossover or saloon

The bottom line
Stellantis has already presented its platforms in considerable detail. STLA Medium is already well known thanks to three European models, and three more will follow next year, which will probably be technically similar.
In contrast, we have not yet heard much about STLA Large in Europe. This should change in 2025 with a new Alfa Romeo Stelvio, followed by a Giulia in 2026. There will also be a Maserati based on STLA Large, but the Quattroporte has reportedly been postponed until 2028.
And the smaller models? Well, the first small cars and small car SUVs based on STLA Small will not be launched until 2026. Before then, we can expect a number of cars based on the Smart Car Platform, including an entire Panda family. But that's another topic.
