1-of-27 1991 Jaguar XJR-15 listed for sale

Especially among today’s car enthusiasts, Jaguar and the word “supercar” don’t often go together. Even when they do, it’s often when discussing the somewhat-infamous Jaguar XJ220, once the world’s fastest production car with its twin-turbocharged V6 engine.

However, the 1990s had another Jaguar supercar in store, a result of Jaguar Sport, which was a partnership between Jaguar and Tom Walkinshaw Racing, and it was the XJR-15. The car, derived from a race car that won Le Mans, competed in the Jaguar Intercontinental Challenge and was made in both track-only and road-legal versions.

With a 450-bhp V12 engine within, only 53 of these cars were made, and before the McLaren F1, the XJR-15 was the first roadgoing car to be made of entirely carbon fibre and Kevlar. Only 27 of them were originally made to be road legal, and one of these absolutely historic masterpieces is available for sale from Graham Rahal Performance in Brownsburg, Indiana USA.
