Latest-generation Lexus LS to bear £72,595 price tag
Top-spec models cost almost £98,000 though.
Lexus’ new flagship LS saloon will arrive British roads early in the new year with prices starting from £72,595.
The S-Class-rivalling four-door saloon will only be offered with hybrid power, but customers will get a choice of four trim levels.
Entry-level LS 500h variants will come with 20-inch alloy wheels, satellite navigation, two-zone climate control, a 12-speaker audio system and a 360-degree panoramic manoeuvring camera, as well as heated and ventilated leather seats.
Spending an extra £7,400 on the Luxury model adds a bespoke 23-speaker Mark Levinson sound system to the mix, as well as extra adjustment for the front seats and heating and ventilation for those in the rear. It also opens up the option of four-wheel drive, which comes at a further £2,600 premium.
Alternatively, customers can spend the same £79,995 on an F Sport variant, which offers sporty styling thanks to lower-profile tyres and black touches around the sills, front bumper and boot lid. Under the skin, the F Sport also benefits from the extended Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management, which makes greater modifications to the variable steering system and rear-wheel steering.
Crowning the range, however, is the £97,995 Premier AWD model, which gets Shiatsu massage functions in the seats, a rear-seat entertainment system and an extending ottoman leg rest for rear passengers.
Under the bonnet, every model will get the same 3.5-litre V6 petrol hybrid engine, which produces 354bhp and permits a 0-62mph time of around 5.5 seconds, as well as returning more than 43mpg in its most efficient rear-wheel-drive guise.
