For the past five years, Overland Expo has showcased an “Ultimate Build,” featuring vehicles like the Lexus LX600, Toyota 4Runner, and GMC Sierra 2500 ATX4. This year, the spotlight is on a rugged off-road Nissan Frontier Pro-4X.
The 2026 Frontier is equipped with NISMO rock sliders, a heavy-duty winch system, auxiliary lighting, and a Tune Outdoor M1L bed-mounted pop-up camper. The Pro-4X trim boasts a raised suspension with Bilstein shocks, 17-inch satin gray alloy wheels with Hankook Dynapro AT2 all-terrain tires, and an electronic rear differential.
Powered by Nissan’s 3.8-liter V6 engine and a nine-speed automatic transmission, the Frontier produces 310 horsepower and 281 pound-feet of torque. Anthony Sicola, the expo’s Ultimate Vehicle Build project manager, praised the Frontier PRO-4X for its authenticity as an overland platform. The vehicle will debut at Overland Expo West in Flagstaff, Arizona.
