Woman Buys Car Through Carvana Despite What She Heard. Then They Call Her On The Phone: ‘Carfax Was Literally Perfect’
'Even new cars can have issues.'
A woman purchases a used Subaru on Carvana and is pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to go through the process.
TikTok creator Hannah (@laedybaws) started filming her video as she waited for the delivery of her Subaru Crosstrek from Carvana.
“So I bought myself a new car on Carvana, despite the horrible things you may have heard,” she says to start the video. “That’s OK, whatever. The Carfax on this car? Literally perfect.”
Why Did She Buy This Used Subaru On Carvana?
Hannah is explaining that the delivery window started a few minutes earlier and went through 5 p.m. when she is interrupted by a call from the delivery driver. That’s when she learned the car was just 30 minutes away.
“This is like the beginning of my delivery window,” Hannah says. “Guys, let’s freaking go.”
Then the video cuts to a parking lot where the Subaru is being parked. Hannah goes up to it in awe. “Oh my god. My newborn baby,” she says. “Smells like a new car.”
Hannah believes based on how the car was driven seasonally that it was a grandmother who owned it before her.
“This whole process was clearly the easiest thing ever,” she says. “I went in with absolutely zero information before I started doing all of my research to end up at this point, and there’s bad, bad things about Carvana as well. But this specific car …. [is a] beautiful, amazing deal. I had to.”
Carvana: Pros And Cons
In the comments section of the video, viewers offered their reactions to Hannah’s decision to purchase a vehicle from Carvana. Here are some of the stated pros and cons.
“I got a car from Carvana in 2010,” one person wrote. “That’s now with my daughter. I bought myself a car from them in 2021 and did the car vending machine. Zero problems with the cars. Excellent customer service.”
A second person asked, “Did you get the extended warranty? I bought a car through Carvana and one month exactly after purchasing it my engine blew. Thankfully, I had the warranty. It also had one previous owner, Carfax.”
Hannah replied, “Yeah, I’m gonna take her for [an inspection] before my seven days are up.”
Another person agreed an inspection is the way to go. “Just take it to a mechanic,” they wrote. “Carvana isn’t bad, it’s just somewhat of a lottery, like any car deal. Even new cars can have issues.”
As several commenters pointed out, the biggest Carvana pro is generally considered to be the streamlined and relatively easy process.
Some cons include not being able to see the car until delivery, sometimes lower trade-in offers, and more complicated returns and warranty processes. Of course, there are stories online, like this one from Jacksonville, Florida, about customers purchasing multiple vehicles through Carvana and finding them mechanically unreliable.
