BMW dedicates an exhibition to Italian design

The exhibition will offer a journey through iconic models bearing the signature of talents such as Giorgetto Giugiaro and Marcello Gandini

In Germany, Munich is preparing to host an exhibition celebrating Italian talent in the automotive industry. From March to September 2025, BMW will open an exhibition dedicated to the influence and contribution of our designers in its history.

Organised in collaboration with BMW Group Classic, the exhibition takes visitors on a journey through iconic models that bear the hallmarks of talents such as Giorgetto Giugiaro and Marcello Gandini.

Not just cars

The exhibition, hosted at the BMW Museum, one of the most visited in Germany (more than 840,000 visitors in 2024), is called 'Italian car design at BMW'.

The exhibition will not only showcase vehicles, but also explore the personal stories of the designers, the design challenges they faced and the innovations they introduced. It will be an opportunity to discover how the Italian touch has helped to define BMW's brand identity over the years.

Think, for example, of BMW Garmisch, the 'Italian-style' 5 Series designed by Marcello Gandini, father of the Lamborghini Countach and Miura, without forgetting BMWs by Giugiaro, such as Giorgetto's M1 or Fabrizio's Nazca.

Digital tours too

From March 2025, the BMW Museum's permanent exhibition will also be available in a new digital format. After almost ten years, the museum app will be replaced by a new digital experience for visitors: the BMW DigiTour.

Visitors will be able to take personalised, interactive tours of the exhibitions using their smartphone or tablet. More information will be available in the coming months.
