Pininfarina showcases the AC Future supercaravan at CES 2025
The Italian designer has created three hyper-functional modular housing units "controlled" by artificial intelligence.
Pininfarina is synonymous with design the world over, and its name is often associated with the automotive world. However, its collaborations extend to many sectors, such as housing solutions, in this case also on wheels, thanks to AC Future. For 2025, the partnership between the two brands has been renewed and they are presenting their proposals at CES in Las Vegas.
This year, they are previewing vehicles that will be coming to market: the AI-THu (AI Transformer Home Unit), the AI-THt (AI Transformer Home Trailer) and the AI-THd (AI Transformer Home Drivable). These are three different interpretations of the concept of 'mobile living' combined with innovation in artificial intelligence - a new way of combining design, functionality and advanced engineering.
From a strictly automotive point of view, the two solutions on wheels are the most interesting as an evolution from the autonomous vehicle to the mobile platform and, finally, to the long-term residential solution based on artificial intelligence. Orders are now open and the first deliveries are expected in the fourth quarter of 2026.
AI Transformer Home Drivable
The AI-THd is the original concept created by Pininfarina. The vehicle is an intelligent, self-driving version of the AI-TH, transforming it from a compact recreational vehicle into a large mobile living space. The AI-THd gives users the freedom to move around and set up their own transformable home in a matter of minutes.

The project offers flexible living spaces as the cockpit can easily be converted into a mobile office or a second bedroom, all managed by technologies based on artificial intelligence.

AI Transformer Home Trailer
The AI-THt is a towed vehicle, a 7.3-metre convertible caravan that expands to offer up to 37 square metres of interior space. Its design takes advantage of AC Future's patented home expansion technologies, which are present in all AI-TH products.
Pininfarina AI-THt - the interior
Users can enjoy flexible living spaces and furnishings, while reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions thanks to AC Future's energy-generating and energy-saving technologies, supported by AI Smart. Unlike a conventional motorhome, the AI-THt does not require a driver's cab, making the interior more spacious and neat, capable of doubling in size when fully extended.

The AI-THt's exterior design incorporates architectural elements, fusing design and aerodynamic efficiency to improve towing performance and range.
Pininfarina AI-THu
AI Transformer domestic unit
The first product in the AC Future line to make its market debut is the AI-THu, a smart home with artificial intelligence. With an interior surface area of 37 square metres and an exterior terrace of 4 square metres, the AI-THu stands out for its ability to be transformed. The modular design means that interior spaces can be converted into a living room, office or bedroom, while the front extension offers additional living or working space.

Equipped with smart home technologies, solar panels, energy storage systems, a water generator and high-quality appliances, this solution starts at $98,000 (approx. £80,000) and can be installed anywhere, even off-grid. The structural flexibility also allows for customisation and expansion up to 111 square metres, with additional options.
