New Mercedes S-Class facelift spied - here's what is changing
Due to arrive during 2025, the new Mercedes S-Class will get a makeover with retouches at the front and rear, as shown by photos of a prototype
The test prototypes of the new Mercedes S-Class, due to arrive in 2025, are starting to tour Europe, in this case on the snowy roads of the Bavarian Alps. And thanks to the photos sent to us by one of our readers, we can begin to see how the star's flagship model will change, with conspicuous camouflage at the front and rear.
It is precisely there that the main new features of the restyling will be concentrated, slightly altering the appearance of the Mercedes S-Class. Here's how it will change.
New face
Starting at the front, the new Mercedes S-Class 2025 will retain the horizontally positioned headlamp clusters, integrating lights with a star design. Even if camouflaged, it is clear that the grille will have a new design, with imposing dimensions befitting a flagship of the German carmaker's calibre. The Mercedes star at the top of the bonnet is absent, probably in an attempt to go unnoticed. The mission was clearly a failure.

As mentioned, there will also be new features at the rear, where we expect a new bumper design and modified light signature.
Unfortunately, there are no pictures of the interior of the new Mercedes S-Class, but they would be of no use. According to what our reader told us, in fact, the dashboard was completely covered by a black cloth hiding every element. The layout should remain more or less the same as the current version, with digital instrumentation and central monitor arranged vertically. The new feature could be the presence of a third monitor, placed in front of the front passenger. There will of course be - as an option - dedicated screens for those sitting behind.
The interior of the current Mercedes S-Class
At the mechanical level, all the engines present in the current range should remain, namely the petrol and diesel mild hybrid and the plug-in, probably with efficiency optimisations with more powerful batteries for the 'plug-in' version, so as to guarantee greater mileage in electric mode.
