Audi SQ8 ABT has 101 bhp more than the current RS Q8
The German tuner increased the German SUV's petrol V8 to 710 bhp and added sportier dampers.
German tuner ABT has got its hands on the latest evolution of the Audi SQ8, the German SUV equipped with the 4.0 TFSI V8 petrol engine, achieving an impressive 710 bhp and 870 Nm of torque. Values that are even higher than those of the factory RS Q8. Here's how that was possible.
More power
According to ABT, the extra power came from the installation of the ABT Power R kit, which includes a set of oversized intercoolers, a new intake, and a new engine map: a combination of hardware and software modifications that made the standard Audi SQ8 a real competitor to the super sports RS Q8.
But that's not all. To better handle the extra power, in fact, the German engineers have also modified the lowering level of the air suspension, which can now drop up to 25 mm lower than the standard height of the production car.
Dedicated aesthetics
Speaking of design, on the other hand, on an aesthetic level, the lowering and upgrading kit of the standard car has been combined with a new set of lightweight ABT High Performance HR23 wheels in Glossy Black, combined with 285/35 ZR23 tyres.
At the rear, four new, enlarged exhaust tailpipes with a diameter of 95 mm have also been installed, and together the company's designers have chosen to equip the Audi SQ8 with a dedicated styling package with carbon and various dark finishes.
To get the whole ABT modification kit for the SQ8 the price to be paid is €34,900 including German VAT, a value to which we have to add the cost of the car, which starts at £98,160 in the United Kingdom.
