The 'Toyota Jimny' is total madness for 4x4 enthusiasts
It would be a sell-out in the dealerships!
We are still saddened by the demise of the Suzuki Jimny, which represented an affordable entry into the world of pure SUVs, fun, different and 'traditional' vehicles in the face of the electric vehicle tsunami.
To overcome this, we are eagerly awaiting the introduction of the Toyota mini Land Cruiser, although we must be cautious, as this small SUV could be targeted only at certain Asian and other emerging markets, but not in Europe.
Anyway, the outlook is not very promising, so we have taken a digital SUV to let our imaginations run wild and dream of a cheap 4x4. Meet the 'Toyota Jimny' (main image in the article), a computer-generated vehicle that has blown our minds.
Now that the Suzuki-Toyota union is more topical than ever with the new e-Vitara, which will also be a Toyota, why not the Jimny? I'm sure the hybrid brand would welcome it.

SRK Designs' creation shows a Jimny with a front end very similar to that of the now defunct Toyota FJ Cruiser. It certainly looks the part, and in fact, it looks like a completely real car, doesn't it?
The air intake on the bonnet and the cut-out front bumper are also perfectly integrated, and the five-spoke alloy wheels add a sophisticated, modern touch to the whole package. Personally, I'd remove the side sills to improve the approach angle.
Can you imagine this car in official Toyota dealerships? If so, the engine would no longer be the modest 102 PS 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, but an economical hybrid system. The 131 PS option in the Yaris and Yaris Cross would be sufficient in terms of performance and low in fuel consumption.
Of course, nothing would be changed to the beam-and-strut chassis, and the two rigid axles, all-wheel drive with reduction gear and hill descent control would be retained. A perfect complement to the Land Cruiser, which has become much more expensive in its latest iteration. Anyway, as they say, let's dream big....
