Land Rover launches Landmark Discovery
The limited edition celebrates 30 years of the model.
It's been 30 years since Land Rover introduced the Discovery model, and to mark that occasion the company has rolled out a new limited-edition model.
It's called the Landmark Edition, and it's based on the standard SE model. It adds the Dynamic Exterior Pack, which includes a tweaked bumper design and Narvik Black mesh grille and fender vents. As well as that, a sprinkling of Landmark badging has also been applied to remind you this isn't 'just' a Discovery.
Also on the exterior is fixed front and rear panoramic roofs, front fog lights and signature Hi-Line tail lights, privacy glass and 20-inch Gloss Black wheels to give the car what Land Rover is calling 'a modern and contemporary look'.
On the inside there's a choice on Ebony or Acorn grained leather. Those choices are complimented by a Satin Brushed centre console and unique aluminium mesh finisher, while there's also a 380W Meridian Sound System.
The model is available with both Land Rover’s 240 bhp SD4 and 306 bhp SD6 diesel engines.
"The Discovery Landmark Edition is a compelling package," said Rawdon Glover, managing director of Jaguar Land Rover UK. "Taking our best-selling SD4 and SD6 Discovery SE models and adding key design features that resonate well with our customers, results in a genuine value proposition that befits a celebration special edition."
The Land Rover Discovery combines all-terrain capability with seven-seat versatility to create an incredibly capable machine. Since its introduction in 1989, the Discovery has notched up 1.7 million sales since 1989 and claimed over 300 awards across the world.
With its All Terrain Progress Control, the Discovery is able to tackle all kinds of terrain. That can be paired with Terrain Response 2 which offers a number of driving modes designed for tackling challenging ground conditions.
The Discovery also has a class-leading wading depth of 900mm and a 3,500kg towing capacity, and a huge range of accessories available with it, too.
