Jeep has completely revamped its Compass for the 2017 model year, replacing an also-ran vehicle with one so competent that it deserves to be in the conversation with the best in the segment. Considering that that segment includes such monster sales champs as the Honda CR-V, Nissan Rogue, Toyota RAV4, and more, that’s an impressive leap for the Jeep brand.

The Compass package seems especially well-suited for those buyers that really do need an added bit of competence on back roads. Though, even without the off-road focused Trailhawk package, this small Jeep offers enough in the way of tech, creature comforts, and space, to keep many buyers interested.
