The Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Hybrid boasts a significant power increase over its predecessor, featuring a new 3.0-liter inline-six engine with a larger intake system. This engine is paired with a 181-hp electric motor, resulting in a combined output of 577 hp and 553 lb-ft, compared to the previous model’s 429 hp and 413 lb-ft. The new GLE 53 accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.4 seconds, making it 0.5 seconds quicker than the outgoing model.

Visually, the GLE 53 stands out with AMG-specific design elements, including a grille, quad exhaust tips, and a steering wheel. It also introduces new color options such as Manufaktur Patagonia Red Metallic and Manufaktur Cirrus Silver Magno, enhancing its distinctive appearance.

While Mercedes has not specified the exact release date for the new GLE 53, it is expected to be available as a 2027 model later this year. Pricing details are anticipated to be announced closer to its on-sale date. The starting price for the AMG GLE 53 is $91,350, which is higher than the 2026 GLE 350’s starting price of $63,600, including destination charges.
