The 2026 Nissan Sentra retains its familiar 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, producing 149 horsepower and 146 pound-feet of torque, and is paired with an Xtronic continuously variable transmission. Despite the engine’s continuity, the Sentra undergoes a significant redesign, featuring a longer body and a slightly shorter wheelbase compared to its predecessor. The exterior boasts an updated V-motion grille, slim lighting, and aerodynamic enhancements like smaller wheel openings and tire deflectors.

Nissan has not yet released official fuel economy ratings for the 2026 Sentra, but estimates suggest it will achieve up to 29 mpg city, 38 mpg highway, and 33 mpg combined. This is slightly less efficient than the 2025 model, which offers up to 30 mpg city, 40 mpg highway, and 34 mpg combined. The Sentra will be available in four trims: S, SV, SL, and SR, with wheel options ranging from 16 to 18 inches.

Inside, the 2026 Sentra comes standard with a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, wired Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay, along with a 7.0-inch multi-information display. Higher trims like SV, SR, and SL offer a 12.3-inch driver display and wireless phone connectivity. The SL trim includes features such as a heated steering wheel, ambient lighting, and a power sunroof, while the SR trim stands out with a unique front fascia and a two-tone roof.

The Sentra’s drive mode selector, available in SV, SR, and SL trims, includes a Sport Mode that enhances steering, shifting, and throttle response. Nissan plans to release the new Sentra to showrooms later this year, with pricing expected to start in the low $20,000 range, similar to the 2025 model.
