New MG RX9 2025: Spectacular 7-seater budget SUV emerges
The new MG RX9 is the Chinese brand's latest entry into the SUV segment. It sits above the MG HS and surprises with its technology.
The activity within MG is non-stop. In the space of just a few months, the British brand with Chinese-made technology has unveiled the MG3 utility car and the latest SUV generations of the MG ZS and MG HS 2025. Well, today we present to you the stunning MG RX9.
With the RX9, the manufacturer enters the large SUV segment, with a seating capacity of up to seven occupants. The design highlights include a huge front grille, LED headlights and integrated door handles, as well as chrome accents and 21-inch wheels.
The dimensions are impressive as it is no less than 4.98 metres long (2.91 m wheelbase), 1.96 metres wide and 1.78 metres high. It is therefore clearly larger than the Hyundai Santa Fe, Kia Sorento, Nissan X-Trail, Peugeot 5008, Renault Espace, Skoda Kodiaq and Volkswagen Tayron.

A look inside the cabin reveals a dual 12.3-inch screen, a bulging centre console and metallic and wood-style trim. To enhance the feel, there are ventilated electric seats, a 12-speaker BOSE audio system and a panoramic roof.
The manufacturer promises ample space for passengers, with the second-row seats adjustable at various angles and a number of storage compartments. As for the boot, it has a generous boot volume of 1,026 litres.
Under the bonnet, the SUV is initially powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine. It produces 204 PS and 350 Nm of maximum torque, is linked to a nine-speed ZF automatic gearbox and offers 2WD front-wheel drive or 4WD all-wheel drive.
In terms of equipment, the new MG RX9 can include features such as hands-free access and start, HD 360º vision camera, wireless charger, three-zone climate control, electric tailgate, folding mirrors with memory and a driving mode selector.
Safety features are complemented by the MG Pilot package. Available systems include Cross Traffic Alert, Lane and High Beam Assist, Active Cruise Control, Blind Spot Detection, Automatic Emergency Braking and Traffic Sign Recognition.
The new MG RX9 2025/2026 has already been launched in several international markets. As is the brand's tradition, prices are very competitive; it is available from around £30,000.
