Rimac brings high performance to Saudi Arabian electric cars
Croatian group will supply electric drive systems to Ceer, a Saudi Arabian-born electric vehicle brand
From Croatia to Saudi Arabia, with one goal: to bring high-performance electric cars to the kingdom of oil. Thus was born the partnership between Rimac Technology and Ceer, an electric vehicle brand resulting from the joint venture between the Arabian Public Investment Fund (Pif) and Taiwan's Foxconn.
At the heart of the agreement is the supply of Rimac's high-performance electric drive systems (EDS), which will be fitted in Ceer's future car range.
Rimac's mission
For the Croatian company, however, this is only the latest name on the customer list. In addition to the Nevera and large-scale projects, the company's technologies power electric and hybrid hypercars such as the Pininfarina Battista, Aston Martin Valkyrie and Koenigsegg Regera.
The signing of the agreement
The alliance with BMW for the supply of batteries and zero-emission engines to the German manufacturer dates back to April. More details on the new collaboration will come in the weeks to come.
Next steps
"Rimac's global reputation and know-how in designing high-performance, state-of-the-art powertrain systems aligns perfectly with our strategic goals of collaborating with global industry leaders, while fulfilling our commitment to deliver world-class high-performance electric vehicles and revolutionise the automotive industry in Saudi Arabia," says Ceer CEO Giacomo DeLuca.
His counterpart Mate Rimac, founder of the group that bears his name, also comments, updating on the next steps: 'With more exciting projects in the pipeline, we have strategically invested in our manufacturing facilities in Croatia, including the Rimac Campus and support infrastructure, which will soon be operating at full capacity.
