Ariel has announced this week the introduction of the Atom 3.5 which has received a new chassis derived from theAtom V8 and Mugen versions. Together with the new dampers and updated engine mounts, Ariel promises that the new Atom 3.5 should be able to provide a more comfortable on-road ride while on the track it will provide better traction and balance.
Other changes that are worth mentioning include the new look of the hood, a new LCD dashboard display that has gear-shift lights, as well as twin projector headlamps and LED turn and taillights. To the display of the driver Ariel can add a data logger which can show the G force and lap times.
The Atom’s Honda 2.0-liter iVTEC normally-aspirated engine has remained untouched so it continues to output 245 hp (182 kW), while its supercharged sibling has received a 10 hp (7 kW) power boost to 310 hp (231 kW). They gained the extra horsepower by modifying the intake, fuel system and mapping.
