New Suzuki Ignis Adventure is a miniature A-Team van

Ever fancied owning a supermini-sized A-Team van? Well thanks to Suzuki, now you can. Brightening January’s bleak meteorological outlook is the Suzuki Ignis Adventure, a limited-run special edition that now crowns the micro SUV’s model range. 

Mechanically speaking, the Ignis remains unchanged. The 89bhp, 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol still delivers a wallet-friendly 60.1mpg on the combined cycle, while the tall, dinky proportions make it easy on the nerves in confined urban spaces. Plus, if you actually buy a car like this to go off-road, or at least drive through the occasional muddy festival field, then the optional four-wheel drive should serve you well.

We should mention that the previously range-topping Suzuki Ignis SZ-T is a Motor1.com favourite and a current member of our long-term test fleet. Standard specification here includes 16-inch alloys, a rear-view camera, roof rails and individually sliding rear seats.

The Ignis Adventure, however, not only boasts a catchier name but a rear spoiler, side mouldings, front and rear skid plates, coloured front grille and fog light bezels plus that all-important side decal. What you get from this curious blend of indigenous Japanese-ness styling and classic 1980s American TV show is a car with undeniable cool factor.

Individually, Suzuki reckons all these further options would add another £1,900 to the list price, and yet prices for the Suzuki Ignis start from £13,999 – just £1,000 over the SZ-T.

Even better news is the fact that during such a prudent time of year, a zero percent APR Personal Contract Purchase (PCP) agreement is available for just £159 per month over 43 months. This requires an initial deposit of £2,216 plus an optional final payment of £5,105 to keep the car after the PCP agreement.

The Suzuki Ignis Adventure is in UK showrooms now and available to order in four colours: the BA Baracus-friendly Super Black Pearl (pictured), White Pearl or Blue Pearl, all of which are £465 options, and a standard issue Fervent Red. We’re smitten, and are heading to eBay in search of some red turbine mag wheels to complete the look…
