The Nürburgring has been a focal point for automotive enthusiasts this year, with manufacturers like Ford and Chevrolet vying for the fastest lap times. Porsche has also joined the competition, initially setting a lap with the 911 GT3 Manthey and now achieving a new record with the Taycan Turbo GT Manthey. The Taycan Turbo GT Manthey completed the track in 6:55.533, making it the fastest electric executive car and surpassing the previous record by over nine seconds. Although it is not as fast as the Corvette ZR1X, Mustang GTD, or the 911 GT3 Manthey, it marks a significant achievement for electric vehicles on the track.

Porsche test driver Lars Kern, who drove the Taycan Turbo GT with the Weissach Package, improved his own record from October 2023 by 12.0 seconds. Kern praised the Manthey Kit for transforming the Taycan Turbo GT into an exceptional track vehicle, highlighting its enhanced stability and confidence during fast sections and braking. The Taycan Turbo GT Manthey’s performance is a testament to the effectiveness of the upgrades made to its suspension, braking, and powertrain.

The Taycan Turbo GT Manthey boasts several upgrades, including a more powerful powertrain that now produces 804 horsepower, increasing to 979 hp in Attack Mode, and a top speed of 193 mph. The car features larger brakes and lighter, larger forged aluminum wheels with Pirelli P Zero Trofeo RS tires, reducing unsprung mass. An advanced aero package with a new adjustable rear wing, optimized diffusers, and underbody air deflectors significantly boosts downforce at 120 mph. The Manthey package also includes visual enhancements like carbon-fiber wheel arch vents and widened side skirts. This package is available for all Taycan Turbo GT models equipped with the Weissach Package.
