Horse Technologies, born from the joint venture between Renault and Geely, has started production in Romania of the world's first large-scale direct injection liquified petroleum gas engine: the HR12 LPG. It is a 1.2-liter three-cylinder turbo engine with dual fuel supply, gasoline and LPG, and it features 48-volt mild-hybrid technology. The engine delivers 130 horsepower and 170 pound-feet of torque, with a nine percent reduction in CO₂ emissions when running on LPG. The LPG system has been completely redesigned, including specific injectors, an electronic vaporizer, and reinforced components. Manufactured in Mioveni, it complies with Euro 6e standards and is ready for Euro 7 regulations.
