The most important new product for the Mercedes brand next year will probably be the new generation of the CLA. CEO Ola Källenius himself has now revealed the first details of the saloon, which is to be launched as an electric car and a combustion model. There is also an official video in which the boss reveals one of the CLA's headlights:

This new model is the first in a family of new vehicles and, according to the manufacturer, will "herald a new chapter for the entry-level segment at Mercedes-Benz." The next CLA is designed to set new standards in terms of range, efficiency and charging speed. It offers customers the choice between an advanced electric powertrain and a state-of-the-art electrified combustion engine.

"With the CLA, we are ushering in a new era at Mercedes-Benz. Our aim is to set new standards in every aspect of what customers can expect from Mercedes in this segment. The modular platform allows us the greatest possible flexibility: we can offer the CLA both as an ultra-modern electric powertrain and as a hybrid electrified combustion engine. And our MB.OS operating system makes the CLA the most intelligent car we have ever built," says Källenius.

The electric version of the CLA integrates technology from the EQXX concept into series production. The next generation of the electric drive unit was developed by Mercedes-Benz and ensures high performance and efficiency. Thanks to a two-speed gearbox, sporty performance and efficiency are perfectly balanced.

The CLA will also be available with a newly developed state-of-the-art hybrid combustion engine. This engine, part of the MMA family of vehicles, utilises 48V technology combined with a new electrified transmission to deliver a highly efficient and enjoyable driving experience.

The CLA 2025 will be the first vehicle to be equipped with the new Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS), which includes the AI-powered MBUX Virtual Assistant. This system enhances the relationship between car and driver through natural, intuitive interaction and proactive support.

The CLA will adopt elements of the Concept CLA Class, including the striking new headlights with star daytime running lights, which are revealed for the first time in the video. The design is intended to emphasise "sportiness and modern aesthetics".
