McLaren celebrating 60 years at the 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed
60 Years of Motorsport Success Meets Future-Focused Excellence: McLaren Unveils Groundbreaking Models while Celebrating a Glorious Past.
The 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed will honour Bruce McLaren, the visionary founder of McLaren Automotive, celebrating the brand's six-decade legacy in high-performance automotive engineering. This event will highlight McLaren’s illustrious ‘Triple Crown’ achievements at the Indianapolis 500, Monaco Grand Prix, and Le Mans 24 Hours. The star of the festival is the 750S, McLaren's latest V8-engined supercar with extraordinary looks and performance.
Joining the parade is the Solus GT, a game-changer in McLaren's fleet. Born from the Gran Turismo SPORT video game and restricted to just 25 customer units, the Solus GT comes equipped with a 5.2-litre V10 engine, bespoke seven-speed sequential transmission, and an aerodynamic package delivering over 2,650 lbs of downforce, making it a formidable force on the track.
The Goodwood Festival of Speed also provides an opportunity to witness the Artura, McLaren's high-performance hybrid V6 supercar, alongside the first McLaren hybrid, the P1 hypercar, and other iconic McLaren models like the Senna, Elva, and the very first production 12C. During the four-day festival, 'McLaren Moments' will showcase legendary racing machines, with drivers such as Mika Häkkinen, Bruno Senna, and JJ Lehto, celebrating McLaren’s rich racing heritage.
The festival will also exhibit McLaren Customer Racing models like the 12C GT3, 650S GT3, and the new Artura Trophy race car, illustrating McLaren's continued dedication to motorsport. The 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed will be a powerful tribute to McLaren's rich history and a testament to its exciting future in high-performance automotive engineering.
