How Mercedes-Benz is using ChatGPT in its infotainment system
Mercedes-Benz brings topical technology to its cars.
Artificial intelligence has been one of the most talked-about technologies as of late, with language models and other tools constantly cropping up, all with an incredible ability to do a wide variety of tasks for their users.
Mercedes-Benz, despite being a manufacturer rooted in the creation of the very first production car, has seen the potential in the futuristic advent of current artificial intelligence tech and has begun to implement it in its vehicles to enhance the experience of driving.
By adding ChatGPT to its “Hey Mercedes” voice control feature in the MBUX system, the vehicles will now be able to evolve from giving predefined responses to adapting to natural language and conversation and giving intuitive responses, suggestions, and solutions in an unprecedented manner that ChatGPT is admired for.
This integration will add to the ease of use of the system, as well as its value, as drivers will be able to maintain focus and attention while having access to an incredibly intelligent system that they can simply talk to.
As technologies like electrification and the use of AI become a priority for Mercedes-Benz and many other manufacturers as they make their way toward the future, this integration of ChatGPT in the MBUX system is an important step forward.
