UK: Watch the Lucid Air and the Porsche Taycan in a drag race
Two trailblazing electric sedans battle it out.
The Porsche Taycan and the Lucid Air are both pioneers in the world of electric luxury performance vehicles, and they both feature high power, lots of technology, and features that will influence the future of the automotive industry. However, they’re quite different, and in a drag race, the two cars pose an interesting rivalry.
The Lucid Air, in the Dream Edition Performance version, boasts an incredible 1,111 bhp, while the Porsche Taycan Turbo S has 761 bhp in comparison, which is an impressive figure but much less than the Lucid. The Lucid also eclipses the Taycan in torque and is only slightly heavier.
However, both use a dual-motor all-wheel drive system, and the races actually saw the Taycan able to get a better launch off the line, but before the quarter-mile was over, the Lucid Air was able to use its incredible horsepower to quickly catch up and overtake Porsche’s electric performance luxury saloon.
Despite that, with a 10.3-second quarter-mile time for the Lucid and a 10.5-second time for the Porsche, the race was still incredibly close. Whichever electric luxury saloon you choose, both the Porsche Taycan and the Lucid Air are fast, stylish, luxurious, and futuristic machines.
