McLaren shows off the £4m track-only Solus GT at its HQ
McLaren’s track-only masterpiece takes centre stage at the brand’s headquarters.
Revealed in the midst of last year’s Monterey Car Week festivities, the new McLaren Solus GT generated plenty of buzz for being the real-life version of McLaren’s virtual Vision Gran Turismo racing concept.
The car was limited to just 25 units, and was created with a no-compromise racing-focused design boasting the capability to generate more downforce than the car itself even weighs, as well as a unique 5.2-litre V10 engine, capable of 829 bhp and 479 lb/ft of torque.
With targeted performance figures like a 2.5-second 0-60 time and a top speed above 200 mph, it’s a car meant to be celebrated, and that’s exactly what McLaren is doing.
In a new Instagram post, the motorsport-rooted manufacturer showed off the new Solus GT in its UK headquarters in Woking, presented beautifully on a raised platform to help onlookers better see the details of its low-slung silhouette.
With the 25 examples of this otherworldly car coming very soon, the new McLaren Solus GT will surely make for some amazing sights and sounds on tracks around the world.
